From the Klein Matterhorn lift station at 3,820 m, the Breithorn's snow flank takes barely two hours — which makes it both the perfect introduction to crampons, rope teams, and thin air, and a mountain people fatally underestimate in bad weather. It is a superb acclimatisation peak and confidence-builder before bigger objectives in the Monte Rosa massif.
